The Mountain Movement
The Mountain Movement
Greetings to all Campaign Supporters

The Mountain Movement has been active for about a year and a half now and we are very encouraged by what has been accomplished over that period of time. Countless summits have been climbed by participants, over $15,000 has been donated to The Stephen Lewis Foundation, several artists have donated art to sell, Paul has completed his trek of New Zealand’s South Island and, most of all, we have been raising awareness here in Canada, on the web, and abroad. However, not to be deceived by the poor media coverage it receives, the HIV/AIDS pandemic remains a threatening and devastating humanitarian crisis in our world today.
Therefore, we would love to be able to count on you again this year as we embark on another series of events and try to make a little difference in the life of those affected by the virus.

Our winter event, The Arokä Project, ended successfuly on March 6th. Make sure to take a look at the official event website for the last updates and final thoughts. Another article about the 1488 km trek is expected to be published shortly. We are happy and confident in saying that The Arokä Project has raised considerable awareness among New Zealanders and also among all those who tuned into the website. In that sense, we have achieved our primary goal of getting attention and redirecting it towards what we feel is such an important cause.

It is encouraging to see an increasing number of people and organizations getting concerned and actively involved with a problem that directly affects not only Africa but the whole world. We hope the challenging walk recently completed in New Zealand inspires more to take the time to transform their compassion for Africa into action.
The Mountain Movement will be returning to its roots in the Canadian Rockies shortly.

More information about the next set of summer events will be included in our April newsletter. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your continued support.
